Day 8
The ordinary day
Somewhere in this there are still ordinary hours: a good coffee, an hour without pain, a joke that landed, weather. Illness is greedy and takes credit for the whole day when it has only ruined part of it.
Today, count the part it did not get. Not as a technique for feeling better, but because those hours are real and they belong to you.
Begin
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
Today’s petition
St. Peregrine, let me have today, and not only the disease that is in it.
Add your own intention here, in your own words. It is not stored anywhere.
Close
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
