Day 5
The person beside the bed
If you are the patient, this day is for them: the spouse doing the driving, the daughter managing the calls, the friend who keeps showing up without being asked.
If you are that person, this day is for you. Caregiving is its own exhaustion and it comes with no diagnosis and no appointments, and people forget to ask how you are.
Begin
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
Today’s petition
St. Peregrine, pray for the one who is not sick and is carrying this too.
Add your own intention here, in your own words. It is not stored anywhere.
Close
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
