Day 2

Alongside the medicine

One thing before the other eight days: nothing here is instead of treatment. Peregrine had a surgeon booked and did not cancel him. Take the drug, keep the appointment, ask the second opinion, finish the course.

Prayer and medicine have never been competitors in this tradition, and any devotion that makes someone feel holier for skipping a treatment has gone wrong somewhere.

Begin

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Today’s petition

St. Peregrine, pray for the people treating this, and give me the sense to keep doing what they say.

Add your own intention here, in your own words. It is not stored anywhere.

Close

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
