The time it takes
In the painting she is working the ribbon, not cutting it. Nothing in the image suggests speed, and knots that took years to tie are not usually undone in nine days.
That is not a reason to stop. It is a reason to change what you are asking for: not that it be over by Friday, but that it be looser at the end of the year than at the start.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
