Day 2

How it got tied

Almost no knot was tied on purpose. It is usually a decision that was reasonable at the time, plus time, plus somebody else's decision that was also reasonable at the time.

Today is for tracing it back without deciding who to blame. That comes later, or never. The point is to see the shape of the thing, because a knot you understand is easier to work at than one you only resent.

Begin

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Today’s petition

Mary, show me how this got tied, without letting me stop at whose fault it was.

Add your own intention here, in your own words. It is not stored anywhere.

Close

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
