Day 2

Naming the person

This novena is usually prayed about a person rather than a situation: a spouse, a parent, an adult child, a sibling who will not speak.

Name them today, and notice what happens in you when you do. That reaction is most of what you will be praying about for the next eight days.

Begin

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Today’s petition

St. Rita, here is the person. I am saying their name to you before I say anything about them.

Add your own intention here, in your own words. It is not stored anywhere.

Close

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
