Day 9

Standing down

The last day of a novena about a fight should ask for something other than victory: the ability to stop when it is over, and to not go looking for the next one.

People who survive long conflicts often come out of them still armed, and it costs them the peace they were fighting for.

Begin

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Today’s petition

St. Michael, when this ends, help me put it down and not go looking for another.

Add your own intention here, in your own words. It is not stored anywhere.

Close

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

That closes it. Nothing about these 9 days is kept: your place is cleared and there is no record of what you asked for.
