Day 3

Fear

Fear is the tax on any long conflict, and it is worst at four in the morning when nothing can be done about anything.

Ask for it to be lifted, and if it is not, ask to be able to act while afraid, which is the version most people are actually given.

Begin

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
