Day 8
The end of the day
The prayer of Leo XIII was written for the end of Mass and is prayed nightly in a lot of houses, which is the practical form of this devotion: a short, fixed, repeatable line at the close of the day.
Say it tonight before sleep, and consider keeping it after the novena ends.
Begin
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Today’s petition
St. Michael, defend us in battle, and be at the door of this house tonight.
Add your own intention here, in your own words. It is not stored anywhere.
Close
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
