Someone else
One day of nine belongs to somebody else's desperate case. You know one: the friend whose marriage is failing, the relative nobody talks about, the person at church who stopped coming.
This is not a technique for getting your own prayer answered. It is the oldest correction to the way trouble narrows a person, which is that it makes the whole world one problem wide. Pray for them by name today, ahead of yourself.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
