Naming it plainly
The first useful thing is to stop describing the situation the way you describe it to other people. The version you give at work, or to your family, is edited, and the edit is exhausting to maintain.
Say the unedited version today. Not the diagnosis in medical language, but what you are actually afraid of. Not "things are difficult with my son" but the sentence underneath it. God is not scandalized and cannot be updated.
