Day 1
The patron of last resorts
Jude Thaddeus was one of the Twelve, and for centuries almost nobody prayed to him. His name was too close to the other Judas, and people avoided it. The tradition holds that this is exactly why he became the patron of desperate cases: he was the apostle nobody asked, so he attends to the requests nobody else will take.
Whether or not that is how heaven works, it is a true description of how people arrive here. Almost nobody starts a novena to St. Jude. They arrive at one, after the other things did not work.
