Day 1
All mankind, especially sinners
The novena begins as wide as it can: everyone, with particular attention to the people furthest from any of this.
That order is deliberate and it is the opposite of how anyone naturally prays. Day one gives you no room to start with your own list.
Begin
Prayed on ordinary rosary beads.
Begin: the Sign of the Cross, one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and the Apostles' Creed.
On each large bead:
Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of your dearly beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.
On each of the ten small beads:
For the sake of his sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
After five decades, three times:
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
Today’s petition
Bring all of us today, and the ones who would not think to ask.
