Day 9
The rose
She said she would spend her heaven doing good on earth, and would let fall a shower of roses. The tradition of asking her for a rose as a sign comes from that.
Take it as what it is: a sign sometimes given, not a mechanism. If a rose turns up in some unlikely form this week, take it and be glad. If none does, the prayer was heard anyway, and treating heaven as a vending machine would be the one thing she had no time for.
Begin
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
Today’s petition
St. Therese, send a rose if you will, and know that I am trusting the answer either way.
Add your own intention here, in your own words. It is not stored anywhere.
Close
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
That closes it. Nothing about these 9 days is kept: your place is cleared and there is no record of what you asked for.
