Day 5
Her darkness
The last eighteen months of her life were spent in a doubt she described as a wall reaching to the sky, and she went on writing about confidence in God while it lasted.
Anyone praying this from inside a stretch where the faith feels like a rumour is in her exact company, and she is not the sunny option in this calendar.
Begin
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
Today’s petition
St. Therese, you kept going with the wall in front of you. Get me through this stretch.
Add your own intention here, in your own words. It is not stored anywhere.
Close
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
