Given a heart
The prophet's promise is the one this devotion rests on: a heart of stone taken out, and a heart of flesh put in. Note that it is done to you rather than by you.
Nine days of asking to be warmer is not a self improvement plan. It is asking for a transplant, and the last day is the day to ask for it in those terms.
Begin
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of thy faithful, and kindle in them the fire of thy love.
V. Send forth thy Spirit, and they shall be created.
R. And thou shalt renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray. O God, who hast taught the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant that in the same Spirit we may be truly wise, and ever rejoice in his consolation, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
