Day 9

Hope in particular

The middle word of his sentence is the one people skip. Prayer is a practice and worry is a habit, but hope is a decision made without enough information, which is why it is a virtue rather than a mood.

Today, name one thing you are going to hope for on purpose, knowing you cannot make it happen and that hoping costs something if it does not come.

Begin

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Today’s petition

Padre Pio, I am choosing to hope for this one thing. Hold me to it.

Add your own intention here, in your own words. It is not stored anywhere.

Close

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

That closes it. Nothing about these 9 days is kept: your place is cleared and there is no record of what you asked for.
