Day 7
The suffering that stays
He was in pain for most of his adult life and did not present it as beautiful. He asked for it to be taken away, and when it was not, he kept the schedule anyway.
That is the only useful model here. Not that pain is a gift, but that a life can be conducted around one, and that asking for relief and continuing without it are not contradictory.
Begin
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.
Today’s petition
Padre Pio, ask that this be lifted, and if it is not, help me keep the schedule.
Add your own intention here, in your own words. It is not stored anywhere.
Close
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
