Day 8

A good death

Tradition holds that he died with Jesus and Mary present, which is why he is the patron of a happy death: not a painless one, an accompanied one.

Pray today for someone who is dying, or for your own death, which is a normal thing to pray about and not a morbid one.

Begin

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Today’s petition

St. Joseph, pray that when it comes I am not alone and not unprepared.

Add your own intention here, in your own words. It is not stored anywhere.

Close

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
