The man with no recorded words

Joseph does not speak once in the Gospels. Everything we know about him is a thing he did: took her home, got up in the night, went to Egypt, came back, taught a trade, was there.

For anyone whose contribution to their family is mostly unremarked labour, that is not a gap in the record. It is the record.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

St. Joseph, you did all of it without a line of dialogue. Pray for me in work nobody narrates.
