Day 6

Getting up in the night

Twice he is woken and told to move, and both times the text says he got up and went. No recorded argument, and no evidence he was certain.

Most obedience looks like this: acting on limited information at an inconvenient hour because waiting is worse.

Begin

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Today’s petition

St. Joseph, when I know the next step and do not like it, get me up.

Add your own intention here, in your own words. It is not stored anywhere.

Close

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
